My head always gets aflutter with new car customizations and odd swaps. Today one occurred to me that hasn't really been fully executed. It would be a full Gen 2 LX conversion on a Dodge Magnum, so the front clip from a 2012 Charger, a German company has done this... but I feel they kind of half-assed it, look at the gap between the front fender and the door... ewwww, door skins from the Charger as well (not sure how you'd make them fit, or if you'd have to go custom), a few body lines and the exterior is good. Interior would need the full upgrade too, rip it all out and start fresh, customizing as needed but staying in line with the Gen 2 design language. Would it be expensive? Hell yes it would. Is it possible? Anything is possible with enough money. Will I do it? I sold my heavily modified Magnum last year... I do have an itch to scratch now.

It does look good from that angle, but two things bother me. As a die hard LX platform guy the design language is drastically different between Gen 1 (the Magnum) and Gen 2, so the front end doesn't "flow" into the rest of the car. Also the trim doesn't match up and from other angles the panel gaps look sloppy. My idea is to go as OEM looking as possible.

I see your point. It all has to start somewhere though, maybe someone else will try it and get it more accurate

I love Viper wheels on other Dodges/Chryslers. They look great on Chargers and 300's

I've always wanted to take a magnum and keep it stock looking, maybe put the viper wheels on it, but put a viper motor in there. I don't know why, I just think it would be so awesome. Oh well, one can dream.....right?

One day I'll have my dream frankencar, an 05-07 GTO... SRT10. Why? Because racecar that's why! It would piss off the GTO die hards, and the Viper die hards... and it would be EPIC. But I don't have the $60k+ it would take to do it.

Derek Ekin built a 300 SRT10 in his garage (he started with a 300 touring 3.5L), from what I understand some parts of the build were farmed out, but 90% of the work was completed by him... check out the story on Car & Driver . It's even got a third pedal! This man is a god amongst men.

I'm hit or miss on Viper wheels on non-Vipers. I can't really decide if I like it or not.

That's an awesome build. Thanks for linking that. I hadn't seen that before.

Also, yeah your build would entangle some people, but it would be cool.
